attractions are its transport museums, notably the National Automobile
Museum, which houses the Schlumpf Collection: an amazing collection of over
500 classic cars. Train City, on the other hand, always has an exciting
exhibition going on that makes full use of the arena's audio-visual
capabilities. Elsewhere, you'll be on more familiar territory, with some
classic Rhenish Renaissance architecture, pretty ancient churches and the
bustling local market. The market is actually the largest in Eastern France
and has more than 300 stalls selling local food and wares. Something unique
to the town is its assortment of wall paintings that can be found all over,
from the courtyards to back streets. These colourful frescoes of everyday
life practically turn the town into an open-air gallery: why not try and
find them all? It's nice to see as well that the Cite du Train has being
paying close attention to public transport. You've seen yellow taxis, well
Mulhouse has yellow trams; very efficient and very cute as well! They're a
great way to travel and to take you to some more of the town's attractions,
such as the Zoological and Botanical Gardens and Museum of Fine Arts. If you are stopping off here on your way through and you like your cars and trains its perfect. The Natonial Train Museum and National Car Museum here are a young lads dream and worth a look for us older motorized transport enthusiasts too. A fine arts and also a fabric painting musee make for a good day out even if the city does not offer what is available elsewhere in architetural wonders. Just a small way from the junction of the A36 and A35. Closeish to Switzerland and Germany.
