Taking its name from two of its stunning natural borders, this, France's most south westerly department, offers some of the country's most spectacular scenery. It takes in a good chunk of the Pyrenees mountains to the south, meaning that skiing, mountain biking and hiking opportunities are all on its doorstep. Because, with its red-shuttered, whitewashed-walled houses; warm climate; pockets of local woodland and extravagant Baroque altarpiece, it's said to be the prettiest village in all of France!
