Just a short stroll to the Centre Ville where you will find a wonderful array of shops, food stores, gift shops, restaurants and cafe bars. Wake up and look out of your window, over the lake and then head out for a lovely walk along the waterside. A timeless scene that dates back to 3100 BC - a deep and spiritual feel with a wealth of wisdom and understanding. There's something special and magical here and you'll be drawn to energy here.

Be sure to spend time wandering the ancient streets and taking it all in. There's a 12th century castle - marking a major symbolic and historical landmark. Maison Lambert is a fine monument and be sure to photograph Pont Morens.

Evening time is serene as the lights hit the water and reflect in to the faces of happy and beautiful people as they walk on by. Find a suitably romantic and inviting restaurant to charm your partner and chat the night away.

For the sporting types there's the chance to hike up the mountains and enjoy those panoramic views. Cycle around the countryside or be really daring a try your hand - in fact your whole body - at a spot of white water rafting.

A medieval town that spills over with mystery and wisdom.

Overall: very central hotel with inclusive car parking available (first come, first served or paid for by hotel overnight in adjacent municipal car park); excellant rooms and breakfast on the terrace under the trees; Annecy offers a range of good restaurants but the Vertumne just next to the hotal is almost certainly the best in town - new 'Italian' (right into Rue Somellier and then left towards the Post Office) is also very good.
