The promenade leads down to the port area and golden sandy beaches where you can soak up the sun and swim in the deep blue ocean. If you fancy a nice walk - about an hour then why not go to Cimiez which sits on a hill just a km from the centre of town. Up there you can sit amongst the olive groves, visit the Monastery and view the Museum of Archaeology. During the month of August they hold the Jazz Festival where music flows from the hill top until midnight most days.

Also there is a weekly publication known as Semaine des Spectacles which details events taking place in Nice, Cannes and Aix - it comes out every Wednesday and can be found at most news stands.
