 Rating of 4.43 out of 5 Unique ID (99086181) Good stuff: We knew what to expect and these expectations were exceeded. Good clean rooms in a good location at a good price. You cant ask for more really can you? Bad stuff: We did have to ask for our free bottle of Chablis on arrival, but when it came it was pleasant. Overall: Best Western has a reputation to uphold and this establishment is a fine example. Its location a next to the river, just after one of the main bridges in the town, made it easy to find. The rooms were clean and tidy. Sheets were changed daily. A nice selection of hot and cold foods at breakfast was good. The dining area was a good size and not over crowded. Staff were helpful and friendly without being overly invasive of our privacy. We were disturbed once, when we were asked if we had used anything from the mini bar but, that was all. Its location in Saumer was perfect for us. We were visiting as many Chateaux of the Loire as we could and Saumer is in the middle of many. There was a short drive to somewhere around 10 different castles in the area. Restoration work was happening in Saumer Chateaux itself, which was a shame. But, the views from inside the castle were splendid. As a base to tour the Loire and all of its history, this hotel is one I would recommend to any one. Value of money accommodation in a great place. |
