A lovely location for a few well deserved days in the Loire countryside. Enjoy some prime golfing close by, pleasant walks, cycling and horse riding. There's a wealth of photographic options and a feast of choices in the nearby city of Orleans.

One of the highlights of the city is its 70 acre park - filled with aromatic flowers, shady trees and lush lawns. Here you will find exotic plants in the botanical gardens and visit the hot house for a viewing of some of the most colourful and beautiful butterflies in the world - some are from as faraway as Indonesia and Madagascar.

The city pays tribute to its heroine - Joan of Arc - the Maison Jeanne-d'Arc gives you a glimpse of the life of France's most revered mademoiselle. The Musee des Beaux Arts is the place to view some fine portraits by French, Dutch and Flemish artists.

Rue de Bourgogne is one of the popular haunts for antique lovers and in the evenings has some of the most colourful and trendy bars - excellent social scene. There's a good mix of trendy and jazz music and a blend of Anglo-French socialising.

Shopping is prime - head for the Galerie Lafayette in Place du Chatelet, there's an abundance of boutiques and jewellery stores all round here.
