There is something for everyone here - museums that celebrate some very special heritage - the silk, printing and textile industries. Be sure to pay a visit to the Old Town where you will see the Cathedral St-Jean with its intriguing astronomical clock, cobbled streets, arty crafty stores and aroma of incense filling the air.

Plenty for the children with special concerts at the Opera House and the Auditorium. A visit to the musee de la Marionnette where you can view the famous Puppets of Lyon and a visit to the Tete d'Or Park where you will find the zoo, aquarium, safari park, botanical gardens and acrobatics adventure area.

Now for those dates - Beaujolais country is a short distance North West of the city - if you are here on 3rd November you don't have too far to go for that special Beaujolais run and pluck that special first pick! The other special date is 8th December - the Festival of Lights - all the residents of the city light lanterns and put them on the balconies and terraces to join the City of Lights - celebrated since 1852 - truly magical.
