There's plenty to see and do here with many sites and attractions. Cathedral St Lazare sits at the highest point of the town and dates back to 1120 - housing the relics of St Lazarus and the central facade depicting the Last Judgement - very poignant. It has undergone much renovation to keep the roof up and preserve the walls and decor inside - view The Awakening of the Magi and the Flight into Egypt.
Note Porte D'Arroux which stands some 56ft high - was once the city gate and St Andrew's Gate standing at 66 ft and laying close to the Roman Theatre. Pop in to Musee Rolin - filled with sculptures and archaeological items.
Meander the shops and be sure to dive in to the speciality food shops where you can buy those delicious cheeses, hams, meats and salamis. Into the Boulangerie for the French Sticks and then choose some wines, water and lemonade and head off in to the countryside for a family picnic - perfect afternoon in paradise. Sit under the shady trees, swim in the rivers and generally soak up the summertime sunshine and outdoor life.
