Just a 10 minute drive away is the main city of Tours - filled with sites and attractions with super shopping from Rue Nationale to Rue de Bordeaux. The Place Plumereau is the place for fine dining, long lunches or that coffee and chat. Musee des Beaux Arts, Chateau du Tours and the Cathedral St Gatien are all worthy of your time.

Overall: There are no two ways about it, sometimes you come across something that is superb in all its aspects. This Domain is just that. The rooms were large and very well furnished. A very comfortable and large bed was great. OK, perhaps the pink silk wall covering was a bit much for a guy but, it made the atmosphere very romantic. The service was great. Incredible friendly staff who were always ready to help. A special note goes out to the young lady who tended the bar late at night. The way she greeted us - with open arms and a big smile - is something we will remember. The food was brilliant. Very posh indeed in the restaurant with waiter service to match. The delights hat awaited here were a real treat. Every dish was better than the last. Just like a good meal should be. The selection of wines available was vast. What was suggested by the sommelier - wine waiter - was local and extremely tasty. It went perfectly with the food we had ordered. We got told some of the history of the place by the staff. It was originally the home of a Duke. When you go, you will see why. It is in a great location and all the staff make you feel like royalty. When we go to the Loire valley again, this Chateaux will definitely be on our list to stay at. |
