Hotel Acacias - Arles Arles 2, rue de la cavalerie Online Booking

Delightful town life and where Van Gogh lived and was inspired to create over 200 paintings.
Arles is the gateway to Camargue countryside and sits on the Rhone River. Vibrant days out on horse back will take you in to the heart of county, nature and fabulous beach canters - feel truly alive and awaken your senses.
Take some days to discover the little villages around about - heritage sites, chateaux, wine merchants, churches and pretty squares where you can relax and sip a fresh coffee.
Arles itself has some rather interesting sights of its own - the Roman Amphitheatre - Arenes which was built in the 1st Century and is now used for bullfighting (don't worry the bull gets to live) - quite spectacular shows. The ruins of the Roman theatre and the medieval church of St Trophime are worth visiting. Museums of Archaeology, local culture, history and art and the Alyscamps Necropolis.
Saturday is market day so its worth spending time along Boulevard des Lices and Boulevard Emile Combes where you will find specialists selling natural sponge, olive oil soap, hats, tablecloths, glorious flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, poultry and meats and cheese of the region - delicious.
Pleasant walks in the surrounding mountains and days out on the beach make this a wonderful place to spend some quality time.
