Hôtel Diderot Chinon 4 Rue De Buffon, 7, Rue Diderot Online Booking

Picture of Hôtel Diderot

As you pass through the Garden of France, you might want to stay a while and explore the many options here. Famous for its many chateaux and vineyards and the chance to enjoy the great outdoors.

A homely appeal with ensuite rooms that have all the modern day amenities you will require. Set in an 18th century establishment that has 15th century evidence in the shape of a warming and inviting fireplace.

Make yourself at home as you enjoy pleasant days sitting in the garden and soaking up the summertime sunshine. Chats and reading out on the terraces and sip a long cool drink.

We are within walking distance of the Place Jeanne d'Arc, shops and restaurants. Take time out to meander the charming streets of Chinon, enjoy a lunch in the open air and simply soak up the atmosphere.

Visit the Chateau - housing the museum of Joan of Arc and pop in to the Musee de la Deviniere where you can view a rather unique display of medicinal plants.

Shopping is typical of any French town but what is worth highlighting are the Caves Plouzeau - for wine lovers - step in to the 12th century cellars and lose yourself in choices of the finest whites and reds of Chinon. Couly-Dutheil on Rue Diderot - close by - has plenty of choice in red wines and if you book ahead you can tour the caves.

Good stuff: So much value for the money and the room was large, airy and very bright.

Bad stuff: 2 sets of stairs to climb--but the stairs were rustic and atmospheric and adds to the general style of the hotel

Overall: Wonderful small hotel with large rooms for so little money. Great fun discovering the plentiful jams made by Laurent for breakfast. Wonderful hosts/hostesses.
