The town is a peaceful place and overlooks the River Yonne and is home to some of the finest vineyards of the region - you'll find the best Chablis here. Visited by many over the years and famous for her stay here - Joan of Arc. A favourite place of Napoleon's and where he met the great Marechal Ney.
Visit the Cathedral St Etienne which dates back to the 13th century - fabulous sculptures portals and inside frescoes, stained glass and carvings influenced by the Romanesque period. A place of peace and tranquillity.
Enjoy the gastronomic delights of the region, local dishes, wonderful wines and fine desserts. Meander the town and soak up the most peaceful and calm atmosphere as you enjoy being in the very heart of the Bourgogne region.
A most pleasant place as you pass through en route or touring the region. For some of the best wine merchants head in to Autun and Beaune - the latter is filled with plenty of shopping options and a much wider choice in cafes, bars and restaurants.
A good stop over place - very quiet.
