The Old Town is home to the Cathedral St-Jean dating back to the 14th century and has a rather beautiful and intriguing astronomical clock face.

Museum lovers be sure to visit the Musee des Canuts for the silk industry, Musee des Tissus for the history of textiles and Musee de L'Imprimerie for its printing past. There's plenty on offer for the children too with a visit to Musee de la Marionnette where you can view the famous and celebrated Lyonnaise puppets.

Tete d'Or Park is where you will find the zoo, aquarium, safari park, acrobatic adventure area and botanical gardens. For a blissful oasis of peace and calm head for Barbe Island or the Gardens of the Fine Art Museum.
