Pretty rooms, traditional decor and all modern amenities with a warm Provence welcome from our dedicated staff.

Arles is most famous for its art and culture and specifically for being the home of Van Gogh during a time in his life when he was inspired to create over 200 paintings. Roman ruins, monuments, fountain, ancient architecture and gargoyles surround you as you walk the squares and old streets.

The Roman Amphitheatre is now the home of the bullfighting where you can enjoy spectacular displays and relax because the bull gets to live. True skill.

Museums paying tribute to art, archaeology, local culture and history are worth of your time and if you buy a "billet global" it gives you admission to all the museums, monuments and major attractions.

Saturday is market day in Arles and a time when you can mingle with the locals and enjoy the local fayre - fresh fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, olives, cheeses of the region and gifts of tablecloths, olive oil soap, natural sponges and hats. Clothing stalls and artisan items can be found too.

Take a trip around the surrounding villages and enjoy the Camargue countryside and mountains of Alpilles. Horse back riding and a chance to see some splendid wildlife.

Close by are beaches and don't forget to visit some of the local wine merchants - you are in Rhone country here.

Good stuff: The view of the Rhone river was just as promised. The location just inside Arles city walls made access to all we wanted to see very easy.

Bad stuff: There were a mass of stairs to climb and no help was offered. With suitcases this was a bit of a struggle.

Overall: A great place to stay in a great city. All the attractions were close by and easy to find as was the hotel. The breakfast buffet was quite limited but did what it said on the tin. We would stay here again and would recommend to friends as a good budget hotel in Arles.

Good stuff: Excellent location and value for money.

Bad stuff: We liked it.

Overall: This hotel was the greatest value of our trip - very reasonably priced for what you get. Very clean and friendly; convenient to the railway station and an easy walk through the old city. Arles is a quiet and interesting place to visit. Great place to take a break from a tour of larger cities or to base a tour of Provance. Roman ruins, narrow quiet streets, active squares and French cuisine.
