A historical and picturesque place to holiday - lovely and pretty with houses built of stone and wood and coloured in many different shades. The famous Rue des Marchands is close by and filled with shops and places of interest. Pop in to the Musee Bartholdi where attribution is made to the great Bartholdi who designed the Statue of Liberty.
There are a number of other places of interest such as the Musee d'Unterlinden where you will find a collection of Faience pottery, weapons, armoury and a wine cellar as well as the Iseenheim altarpiece. The musee du Jouet is filled with antique toys and trains and is a marvellous place to take the children. One for the sons and father is the Musee Francais du Chemin de Fer where the SNCF has a fine collection of steam and electric trains - whilst the men are distracted, how about the ladies do a spot of retail therapy............
