Petite France is famous for its fairy tale appeal - 13th century towers and foot bridges entwine with prettily coloured houses that are filled with charm. The whole area is filled with souvenir shops and tourist restaurants - you can indulge in all kinds of cuisine but why not try some of the traditional dishes. Quiche Lorraine comes from these parts and then there is the Flammenkueche - a pizza like tart with onions, bacon and creme fraiche. Baeckeoffe is a layered casserole of assorted meats and then there are the desserts - be sure to try the Rum Baba with whipped cream. There are some delicious and tempting patisseries and boulangeries - be sure to be first in line in the mornings for those fresh baguettes and croissants.

Shopping is a plenty here with a pedestrianised area in the centre filled with chic fashion houses, beautiful boutiques and classy jewellers. Accessories and perfumes and some really rather trendy designer gear can be found in Galeries Lafayette.

Treat yourself to an evening at the National Theatre over in the German Quarter and whilst there view the Palace of the Rhine and the Church of Saint Paul - a neo-Gothic design.

Take the Tramway around town and see all the sights a little differently. The prestigious area of Quarter Des XV is where you will find the European Parliament, Council and the Court of Human Rights.
