A short walk and you are in the Promenade des Anglais - the central point of Nice - enjoy the flower festival in August and meander down to the port area where you will find blue sea, golden beaches and the perfect place to soak up the sunshine. Marvellous markets, ancient architecture, Old Town with its labyrinth of streets and medieval history, cafes, bars and fine restaurants are all to be enjoyed. Cours Saleya is the famous flower market and on Mondays you can browse the flea market there and perhaps find a old treasure. Rue de France is home to the pedestrianised shopping area - beautiful boutiques, gorgeous gift shops, jet set jewellery and fine French perfume made from local flowers all make for that perfect outfit. Evenings spent in the trendy bars and restaurants are a must if you are to mix with the rich and famous!
Peaceful park lands, magical waterfalls, music festivals, olive groves and panoramic views can be enjoyed at Le Chateau - the rock with no castle and Cimiez where you will also find Museums, the monastery and a restful place to relax. Two very helpful Tourist Information Offices can be found at the main rail station and Avenue Thiers and its worth picking up the Semaine des Spectacles which details events taking place in Nice, Cannes and Aix and is produced every Wednesday and found at most news stands.
Webmaster notes: After staying here myself I can say, the major selling point of this hotel is the excellent location which is right in the heart of the city centre across gardens from the Promenade des Anglais. You would really find it hard to get a better place to stay geographically! The hotel has a smart lobby, and the reception staff were both welcoming and helpful. The Hotel is a 4 star establishment and the double bedroom which we were allocated was spacious and comfortable although the decor could use up dating. The room was equipped with air conditioning, TV, mini bar and safe. The bathroom was large, well equipped and clean. The room we had was at the back of the hotel and thus was pleasantly quiet. A splendid buffet breakfast is served in a breakfast room on the ground floor. There is a hotel bar which is rather strangely decorated. I would stay at this hotel again provided the price was competitive,
