The department of Seine-Saint-Denis incorporates the capital's northern suburbs, collectively labelled "The Gates of Paris". Today, the name is largely due to the presence of the Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, the busiest airport in the country. The department isn't just known for its convenient adjacence to Paris, however - the addition of the Stade de France late last millennium changed that.
