advantages is its adjacence to Lac du Bourget, France's largest natural
freshwater lake. Home to 50 varieties of fish, the lake is perfect for
angling, not to mention sailing, water-skiing and diving. The activities
continue back on dry land, with an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts and a
racecourse all in the vicinity. 400,000 flowers adorn the town's parks, and
dozens of picnic spots scatter the woodlands and meadows around the lake.
The country's most extensive freshwater aquarium can also be found here,
nestled in Bourget's Petit Port. In the evening, the Grand Cercle Casino is
always in demand - and is one of many places from which to enjoy a
